How to connect X (Twitter)

X sharing uses your own authorized account. A free trial does not block connection; X application access must also be configured.

Before you start

  • Have an X account you can sign in to.
  • Allow pop-ups for RealEstateMarketingEngine and approve the requested read and posting access.
  • The RealEstateMarketingEngine application owner must configure X access. Members do not each need an X developer application.

Follow these steps in order

  1. 1.

    Sign in and open Websites

Open Your websites in RealEstateMarketingEngine and find X (Twitter) auto-posting.

  2. 2.

    Connect your account

Click Connect my X account. If your browser blocks the window, allow pop-ups for RealEstateMarketingEngine and try again.

  3. 3.

    Authorize on X

Sign in to the correct X account in the pop-up, review the requested permissions and approve. Keep the window open until it returns to RealEstateMarketingEngine.

  4. 4.

    Check the account confirmation

Wait for X connected as @yourname. Closing the window or approving access without a completed return is not a saved connection.

  5. 5.

Enable sharing for the intended websites

Switch Post to my X account on, then check Share this website’s articles on X for each website you want to share.

  6. 6.

    Check a live share

Publish an approved article live or use Post to X on a past live article. Check Recent X shares and your profile. Posts include the title, article link, website CTA and hashtags within 280 characters.

Troubleshooting

X says access denied or shows 403

A 403 alone does not prove missing permissions. Note the exact message. If it appears before consent, ask RealEstateMarketingEngine to check the application’s X login settings; if it appears during a profile lookup or post, the provider’s error details may identify access or billing restrictions. Paying for RealEstateMarketingEngine does not fix an X restriction.

The window closes but no account appears

Return to RealEstateMarketingEngine, read the connection error, and retry with pop-ups enabled. If it continues, contact RealEstateMarketingEngine with the message. Do not share passwords, client secrets or authorization links.

Connected, but posting fails

Check both sharing switches and the recent share error. X usage limits, provider billing and posting permissions are separate from your RealEstateMarketingEngine allowance. Reconnect only when access renewal is requested.

Still stuck? Contact RealEstateMarketingEngine with the network name, exact error and the step that failed. Never send passwords or secrets.

RealEstateMarketingEngine application owner checklist—not required of every member
  1. Open X Developer Portal → Project/App → User authentication settings. Enable OAuth 2.0, Read and write, and the Web App / Automated App or Bot application type (confidential client).
  2. Register this exact callback: https://connector-gateway.lovable.dev/api/v1/app-users/oauth2/callback. Set RealEstateMarketingEngine’s website address to https://realestatemarketingengine.com.
  3. In Lovable workspace App User Connectors, configure the X OAuth 2.0 Client ID and Client Secret—not the app-only bearer token. Link the client to RealEstateMarketingEngine and enable offline access.
  4. The consent request must include users.read, tweet.read, tweet.write and offline.access. Check X API access and any provider billing requirements. After changing permissions, retry member consent. Never paste secrets into chat.
